It was nothing to do with Sue’s acting skills, but a stunt-double who stepped in when Audrey was brutally attacked by a teen thug – who turned out to be Simon Barlow.

Fans took the opportunity to put the pause button on their Sky Q boxes to good use to get some good snaps of Audrey’s replacement.

Well no one was actually going to push telly legend Sue to the floor, were they?

Fans obviously found the Audrey replacement hilarious, taking to Twitter to have a good old giggle about it.

And Sue spoke out about the stunt in a behind the scenes video where she said: “I’d like to tell you that I have just done the most magnificent stunt in the whole Coronation Street era – but I can’t tell you that because I didn’t do it!

“I had the most wonderful stunt lady called Daz [Parker]”

Daz was revealed in his full made-up glory earlier on This Morning, when Sharon Marshall discussed the episode with Phil and Holly.

And here’s the lovely Daz.

They’re practically twins!

Poor Audrey ended up in hospital while Roy Cropper confronted Leanne and Peter over Simon’s troublesome behaviour, telling them that he’d better confess to the police.

Simon went to visit Audrey in hospital to apologise, but was later seen bragging to his mates about the attack.

Is there a new cobbles villain in training?
