Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank on whether Billy Mayhew will find love

He deserves some TLC!

Coronation Street’s troubled vicar Billy Mayhew has had a helluva time of it lately.

So it would be lovely to see him settle down with the right person and get some serious TLC, wouldn’t it?

But actor Daniel Brocklebank, 38, has ruled out any romance for his character in the foreseeable future…

Awww, shame!

The soap actor, who has played Billy for four years, told The Sun that getting into another relationship is the last thing his character needs right now.

He said: “I think he’s got far too much on his plate to be thinking about [bleep] now.

“The man has literally been reeling for six months with discovering that he killed somebody, having his femoral artery split open and nearly bleeding to death, he then fell 300ft of a cliff and survived, his partner left him, he became addicted to prescription painkillers, and now has a heroin addiction.

“I don’t think dating is high on his agenda right now, I think he’s probably got enough on his plate.”

Well, you do have a point Daniel!

Billy used to have a happy relationship, an adopted daughter and a steady job before he discovered he was responsible for the death of Susan Barlow.

While Billy’s life spiralled out of control, scheming Adam Barlow helped get him hooked on strong painkillers as revenge for his involvement in the tragic death of his mum.

And poor Billy is still in love with his ex-Todd Grimshaw, who left the soap in a hurry last year.

There could be a silver lining for Billy, however, as he was recently saved from himself by his friends and his employer when they got him into a special Christian rehab centre.
