When Eva discovered she was pregnant with ex-Aidan’s baby, she decided to have an abortion. Until she shook on a secret deal with Toyah Battersby to give her the baby instead…

Knowing that Toyah was desperate to have a child, Eva agreed to hand hers over as soon as it’s born. However, upcoming episodes show the arrangement thrown into doubt.

Meanwhile, Aidan (Shayne Ward) has no idea that Eva is carrying his baby. And, in forthcoming episodes, Toyah (Georgia Taylor) begins to realise that Eva is having doubts about giving up her baby.

But will she do the selfless thing – or hold Eva to her word?

Talking to Digital Spy, Catherine explains: “Eva went into it with a very genuine heart. Her and Toyah have developed this really strong bond and relationship.

“She genuinely felt sorry for Toyah and she thought she could absolutely deal with it, but as we know, Eva has got a big heart and things are going to be extremely difficult for her.”

And Catherine goes on to reveal the REAL reason she’s having doubts: “She is still in love with Aidan. As much as she tries to deny it, she does still love him. It is their baby, so at the same time she is wracked with guilt.”

Catherine, who is a mum of one in real life, adds: “It has taken Eva this long to know she loved Aidan. She has been suppressing it. She hasn’t let those feelings in. Every time she has thought about him, she has just pushed it to one side.”

The fact that Eva never knew her father also plays an important part in her decision making.

Whether Eva decides to keep the baby or honour her promise, we predict some seriously heartbreaking scenes coming up.

Either way, there’ll be tears. Pass the tissues, dear!

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
