Coronation Street’s Anna Windass frustrates viewers with her Phelan plan

Anna hasn't learned from her years of watching Murder, She Wrote

Anna Windass’ audition to become Coronation Street’s Jessica Fletcher is going very well.

The former cafe worker – who is played by actress Debbie Rush in the ITV soap – had viewers furious as she tried to trick evil killer Pat Phelan into confessing to setting her up with the worst plan imaginable.

Luring the rapist around to her house for a friendly chat, Anna thought she had hit upon a brilliant plan.

Sadly all the hours spent watching Murder, She Wrote failed to pay off and Anna’s genius plan was to just ask him to confess while she secretly recorded it.

Viewers flocked to social media to express their frustration.

One wrote: “Honestly Anna, you really think Pat Phelan is that stupid? #Corrie”

Another added: “Now Anna is trying to make friends with Phelan?! And get answers out of him? She never learns. #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”

“#corrie You can’t fool Phelan Anna,” tweeted a third.

Unfortunately it looks like Phelan’s plan is going to work judging by what happened later in the episodes.

The evil builder stepped up his plan by visiting Seb and telling him that he saw Anna go into the building he fell from looking like she wanted to kill, and because Seb’s not the sharpest tool, he believed it.

At the end of the episode Anna was dragged kicking and screaming into a police car after being arrested for the attempted murder of Seb Franklin.

How will she get out of this one?
