Former Coronation Street actress Rhea Bailey has told that she would be open to returning to the soap – but only if her character, Caz Hammond, had changed her ways.
Caz was last seen at the end of last year when she faked her own death to frame Maria Connor.
After coming into the show as Kate Connor’s girlfriend, Caz slowly started to show she was unhinged as she faked an injury and went AWOL from her army job.
She became controlling and manipulative with Kate, especially as she could see Kate was growing closer to Sophie Webster.
Eventually Kate kicked her to the kerb and that’s when Caz turned her attentions to unsuspecting Maria.

Maria was kind-hearted enough to give Caz and a home and a shoulder to cry on during the fallout of the Kate drama, but when Caz started to develop feelings for Maria, things got weird.
She tried to kiss her, but Maria rejected her, leading Caz to set out on a campaign to ruin the hairdresser by faking her own death and framing Maria for it.
Maria’s lover, Aidan Connor, managed to track Caz down and expose her to rescue Maria, and after Kate got involved in bringing her down, Caz was arrested.
Speaking to the Daily Star Online, Rhea said of a possible return: “I would come back if Caz had been to prison and been reformed. If she had done her time and seen the error of her ways, it would be a laugh.
“The character is something I wouldn’t say I miss, as the fans got so intense about her evil ways, but I wouldn’t change my experience at all.”
The 34-year-old added: “I would never say never, the people are so nice so it would definitely be something I am interested in.”
If she did return to the soap, she’d find Maria has been having an affair with Aidan, who’s engaged to Eva and thinks they’re expecting a baby.

Meanwhile, Eva’s actually playing him because she knows all about his cheating ways. Could Caz be a good asset in getting payback?
