It was always going to be a heart-wrenching ceremony, and Aidan Connor’s funeral was exactly that – with viewers left sobbing at home.
Emotional scenes showed Aidan’s bereaved family in mourning, after the factory owner tragically took his own life.

The double-billed (which aired on Wednesday 13 June) saw Robert Preston and Aidan’s dad Johnny carrying the body into the church, to a tear-inducing song by Irish band Kodaline.
Johnny’s heartfelt eulogy about how Aidan would have been a good father and husband moved the audience to tears – not least a heartbroken Eva.
Only Eva and Toyah know that Aidan in fact does have a child; one he won’t see grow up.

Overcome with emotional, Eva ran out of the church to be comforted by Toyah.
Viewers were in bits, with one writing: “Crying @corrie, aidan’s dads eulogy is a massive eye opener.”
Another said: “Absolute balled my eyes out at Corrie tonight at Aidan’s funeral.”
A third added: “The way me and char are crying at Aidan’s funeral anyone would think we’re in church or even knew him.”

Actor Shayne Ward paid tribute to his character Aidan, tweeting: “Final Farewell. Goodbye Aidan Connor.”
The tears soon turned to anger, however, when Alya changed the locks of the factory while the Connor family grieved at the funeral.
Tweeters called it “lower than low”, “cold and heartless”, “horrible” and “unforgivably selfish”.
But it was Johnny’s behaviour that REALLY got Corrie fans LIVID.
Not only did he attempt to BAN his wife Jenny from the funeral, depriving her of her right to say goodbye to her step-son, he later cheated on her with Liz.
Foul play, shouted the viewers!
After their recent kiss, Johnny missed his own son’s wake and ended up in Liz’s arms again.

But was Johnny and Liz’s encounter a grief-fling, or are Johnny and Jenny really over for good?
