Daniel Osbourne’s sweet proposal to Sinead Tinker in Weatherfield

Is it true love?

| Updated:

There are TWO proposals in Weatherfield next week – and it’s a welcome relief from the custody battles, marriage break-ups and war over wills!

In fact, it’s really quite sweet as loved-up Daniel Osbourne proposes to Sinead Tinker.

In heart-tugging scenes, viewers will see Flora retrieving her jewellery box and handing her mother’s engagement ring to Daniel.

She urges him to propose to girlfriend Sinead, and he happily agrees.

In an interview with Digital Spy, actor Rob Mallard explains that Dan doesn’t need much coaxing.

He says: “Sinead is 100% the woman for him, and he’s keen to seal the deal.

“Having seen their love is real, Flora decides to pass on a family heirloom and basically orchestrates the whole proposal.”

He goes on to say: “He’s not reluctant to do it – he’s worried she might say no – but he’s given a firm push in the right direction.

“I think the proposal was always on his mind. He was just waiting for the right time to do it.”

But it’s not all celebrations and Champagne, as Daniel gets annoyed when he later discovers that Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald get engaged too.

Instead of being happy for them, Daniel ‘let’s slip’ that Steve kissed Michelle Connor on her wedding day.

“Daniel becomes quite petulant,” explains Rob. “Everyone is trying to be diplomatic, but Daniel just wants them all to see Steve’s proposal as a sham and his as the real deal.”

In January, Sinead and Chesney were set to marry until he backed out.

Is it the real deal with Daniel or another passing fling? Only time will tell!
