Coronation Street is set to revisit Anna Windass’s storyline next week when Daniel Osbourne decides to start a press campaign to get her released from prison.

And considering the fact Anna was sent down for five years for GBH thanks to Phelan’s lies in the witness stand, it looks like she’s got a good chance of being a free woman once again.

But as next week approaches, Coronation Street residents are becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of news on her release.

But fear not – because Daniel Osbourne has a plan. He sets up a press campaign to get Anna freed – but will it work?

Daniel thinks that getting everyone behind Anna’s bid for freedom could speed things up a bit – and one of the first residents to back there campaign is Nicola Rubinstein, Phelan’s own daughter!

But when Nicola suggests to Eileen that she also backs Anna’s campaign to be released, Mrs Phelan flat out refuses.

After not listening to Anna’s words of warning about Phelan last year, Eileen is too ashamed to back Anna’s release, despite her old neighbour needing all the help she can get.

Will Daniel’s hard work to get Anna out of prison actually work?

Corrie bosses have yet to confirm if Debbie Rush, who plays wronged Anna, will be returning to the cobbles any time soon. But that doesn’t mean we can’t keep our fingers crossed.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
