Coronation Street SPOILER: Fire drama could uncover Phelan’s dark secrets

The net is closing in on the killer

You won’t need reminding that a certain Pat Phelan has been a right evil so-and-so in recent months.

The Corrie crook has terrorised Weatherfield with his callous ways – the most recent of which saw him coax his hostage Andy Carver into murdering Vinny Ashford, before he shot Andy dead himself.

Since that gruesome incident, viewers have been wondering how the vicious thug (played by Connor McIntyre) will get his comeuppance.

Well, that question may soon be answered as Corrie bosses turn up the heat with some high drama next week.

When Phelan and Eileen return from holiday, they hear that the house Phelan was meant to be renovating has been devastated by fire.

That, of course, is the very house where the villain was holding Andy prisoner before the double murder.

Hmm, suspicious. As you’d expect, Phelan pretends to be upset that the building has been burnt down, but deep down he’s thrilled that nothing now can frame him for his awful crime.

Or can it? When he and Eileen visit the property, it turns out not everything has been destroyed – Eileen discovers the wire model that Andy made.

Phelan manages to distract his wife and remove the offending item, but will it have planted the seed of doubt in her head?

He’s already feeling nervous that Nicola will reveal the truth about him raping Anna, and Nicola’s mum, before she heads off to Australia.

Of course, this being Phelan, maybe he’ll just solve the problem of Eileen finding about by offing her like he seems to be doing to everyone else!

Think that’s far-fetched? Not according to Connor McIntyre!

When asked by Express.co.uk if he reckons Phelan will eventually be caught, he said: “At some point. Now, who’s going to catch him out? The interesting thing about that is that the people who are snooping about, we have to assume that they’re all going to be in danger.

“Do you think Eileen’s safe? I don’t think she is. I don’t think anyone’s safe!”

So, make of that what you will. He might just be teasing.

Whatever happens, it sounds like next week’s Corrie is going to be flaming brilliant!
