Coronation Street SPOILER: Bethany’s back and caught up in another abuse plot

She returns to Weatherfield to help a friend in need...

Corrie’s Bethany Platt will soon be back from her extended holiday in Milan, and is set to find herself caught up in yet another big storyline.

The troubled teen jetted off abroad following her harrowing grooming ordeal at the hands of Nathan Curtis recently. But even with Nathan locked up, it seems Bethany will soon find herself caught up in more drama.

Corrie fans panicked that maybe Bethany wouldn’t be returning at all when Sarah announced her daughter wouldn’t be coming back to Weatherfield any time soon.

But, fear not. Bethany is back on our screens next week – just in time to help her friend Mary Taylor.

Mary has been caught up in her own dramas since Bethany left, and she’s reportedly set to face backlash from her family when they accuse her of hurting baby George.

Jude and Angie will turn against Mary when doctors reportedly suggest baby George is only unwell when Mary looks after him.

Devastated that her family think she is capable of harming her own grandson, Mary turns to Bethany for a shoulder to cry on.

Victoria Ekanoye, who plays Angie, told Digital Spy, “The baby is really sick and even the professionals don’t know at this point what’s wrong. Mary is the common denominator – every time he is with her, he gets sick.

“Someone looking from the outside in would deduce that she is the catalyst, so Angie thinks this isn’t really that far fetched.

“Also, the fact that Angie has moved away from her amazing life in South Africa makes her even more keen for it to be Mary’s fault, because then maybe she will get her old life, her son and her husband back.”

But it looks like Bethany’s involvement could end up landing the pair in trouble when she goes to the hospital to apparently spy on the family and see how little George is doing following his illness.

Little do they know, Mary has been spotted in the hospital car park by Angie – and she’s not happy.

Does this mean that Bethany could find herself caught up in more drama after only moments of getting back to the Street? And can Mary prove her innocence when two public protection officers visit her at home to talk about baby George?
