Coronation Street is auditioning for some very specific new roles…

They want some fresh blood!

Corrie bosses are said to be on the hunt for some new beautiful women to star in the show, because they’re worried there isn’t enough sex appeal on the cobbles.

According to a report in The Sun, they’re worried because Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva, is leaving in the summer.

And Helen Flanagan, aka Rosie Webster, is pregnant – meaning no more figure-hugging outfits for Rosie for a while as Helen hides her baby bump.

The Sun also says the departure of Michelle Keegan – back in 2014 – and Georgia May Foote in 2015, has caused worry among the show chiefs.

“You just have to look at the likes of Michelle Keegan and Helen Flanagan to know it’s a formula that works,” a source told The Sun.

Apparently lots of female actors have been auditioning recently, leading to rumours that bosses are worried about the lack of sexy women on the show.

But Corrie bosses said: “We are auditioning talented actors, both male and female, their talent is what we’re looking at.”

And we reckon there are plenty of gorgeous women on the cobbles already.

Alya Nazir, her sister-in-law Rana, and Rana’s on-off girlfriend Kate Connor are all totally beautiful.

While Rosie’s sister Sophie is also a looker, as is kooky Sinead Tinker.

With that much talent on the cobbles, we’re not sure there’s a big need for more sexy stars. But we’re looking forward to meeting the new faces when they arrive.
