Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt is preparing to give evidence in court against her abusers Nathan Curtis and Neil Clifton, but she faces yet another terrifying ordeal at the hands of Nathan’s accomplice, Mel.
Last week we reported that Mel will kidnap Bethany and drive her to a railway track before threatening her with a tyre iron, and now speculation is rife Bethany will KILL Mel in self-defence.

Pictures have been released of on location filming for the soap, some show Bethany looking tearful arriving at court to take the stand, but others show her in a tussle with Mel.
So it looks like Mel kidnaps Bethany from the court to stop her giving evidence.
Whether Mel’s been put up to it by Nathan or she’s doing it off her own back remains to be seen, but she has been devoted to the evil groomer from day one.
She’s let him treat her like dirt, even slamming her hand in the salon till to punish her for absolutely nothing, and it’s very clear she’s in love with him.
As Mel drives a terrified Bethany to the tracks, the pair can be seen fighting, with Mel brandishing a weapon. But reports have suggested Bethany manages to escape and runs off – straight into the path of an oncoming train.
More images have emerged of trainee copper Craig at the scene that has been cordoned off by the police. And he’s set to make the grim discovery of a young woman’s body.
While the fear is that Bethany has been hit by the train and killed before she can give evidence, many now feel the body is in fact Mel’s.
Sharing their theories on Twitter, fans of the show give a very good argument as to why the attacker will become the victim.
It definitely would fit with everything Corrie have so far said, in that they’ve revealed Bethany will get a good ending in this storyline. Death-by-train isn’t exactly a good ending, is it? So we’d say they’re probably not planning to kill her off at this stage.

Has Bethany lashed out and killed her in self-defence in her bid to get away? Or will Mel be hit by the train as she chases Bethany?
If the body is Mel, how will Bethany cope with her death? Will she blame herself? And will it affect her giving evidence at the trial?
Let’s hope Bethany survives and gets justice for her terrible ordeal.
