Celebrity Big Brother confirms HUGE twist for next series

Well, this is sure to cause drama!

Let’s face it, Celebrity Big Brother twists and turns are nothing new anymore, right?

After 20 whole series of CBB, it’s fair to say we’ve already seen pretty much every ‘shock’ twist imaginable.

However, the latest twist announced by Channel 5 bosses really does stir things up…

As widely reported, it’s been confirmed the 21st series of Celebrity Big Brother will feature an all-female line-up.

Yes. Just women. No men.

When the new series of CBB begins in January, it will be just female celebrities entering the house on launch night.

The big twist has been introduced to mark 100 years since women won the right to vote, and will be part of Channel 5’s ongoing programming to mark a centenary of women’s suffrage.

The identities of the female housemates have been kept under wraps for now, but Rylan Clark-Neal – who hosts CBB spinoff show, Bit On The Side – said on This Morning it was an, er, interesting mix.

In his words: “It’s a very weird mix. It’s dodgy.”

Intriguing!

All CBB bosses have said so far, is the mix of housemates will include politicians and performing artists… which doesn’t give much away!

It won’t be all-female for the entire series, however.

Men will enter the house, but it’s yet to be confirmed a) when the guys will rock up or b) how long they are staying for.

What we do know, though, is that over the course of the series the housemates will be set a series of tasks and hidden experiments that will try to challenge gender stereotypes and reveal the truth of what it’s like to be a woman or a man in the 21st century.

Emma Willis returns to host, with Rylan back on the spinoff show.

Rumours of an all-female launch night first surfaced over the summer.

A source told The Sun at the time: “They are keen to cast opinionated women like Germaine Greer over no-mark reality TV girls who look good but have little to say or bring to the conversation.

“Bosses are expecting cat fights galore, plenty of tension and clashing personalities.”

It’s not actually the first time Big Brother experimented with an all-female house: a twist during the Big Brother 8 launch night saw just women entering the house, with the male housemates arriving here and there from day three onwards.
