CBB ‘sending in’ controversial comedian who joked about rape

Will he bring laughs?

While we know all of the female contestants in the Big Brother house now, we’re still searching for info about who the male entrants will be.

Love Island star Jonny Mitchell, Boyzone singer Shane Lynch and former footballer John Barnes have been all-but confirmed to enter the house, but there are still several male slots to fill.

And according to The Sun, one of those slots will be taken by controversial comedian Daniel O’Reilly – known to most as Dapper Laughs.

Daniel shot to fame a few years ago thanks to his videos on Facebook, which garnered him a huge fanbase.

He parlayed this success into TV shows and even a comedy single, before an unfortunate incident at a live show brought his career crashing down.

In the middle of a comedy set, Daniel was heckled for joking about rape – at one point even telling a female audience member that she was “gagging for a rape.”

In the aftermath – with his comedy show quickly cancelled and reputation in tatters – Daniel appeared on Newsnight, where he promised to retire Dapper Laughs for good.

And in 2015, Daniel said that he believes himself to be a feminist who believes in gender equality.

So if it’s fireworks Channel 5 were looking for, they’ve probably picked the country’s most likely candidate.

An insider told The Sun: “Dapper Laughs is going to make great TV and he’s definitely going to spice things up in the house.”

“It’s been a pretty bland series so far so they definitely need him in there to ruffle some feathers with the ladies.”

Daniel will be entering the house alongside glamour model Jess Impiazzi, fearsome former politician Ann Widdecombe and transgender reporter India Willoughby.

This series of CBB is shaping up to be one of the spiciest yet!
