Cath Tyldesley admits the one thing she won’t miss about Corrie

Eva Price departed Weatherfield last night

Cath Tyldesley bade farewell to Coronation Street last night, as her character Eva Price left Weatherfield for good.

Though it was her decision to leave the ITV soap, the 34-year-old actress will no doubt be feeling a bit emotional this morning.

However, she’s revealed that there’s one thing she definitely WON’T miss about the role she’s filled for the past seven years.

Having to wear such “bold” outfits!

As befitting a feisty Rovers Return barmaid, Eva was often seen wearing – ahem – ‘eye-catching’ costumes. And even though Cath chose them herself, it sounds like she’s happy to be shot of them.

In a clip posted on Corrie’s official Twitter feed (see main pic), she said: “Eva has had some very bold choices costume-wise over the years. Certainly some statement pieces. I choose all of Eva’s outfits.

“Will I miss them? Not so much. But they were perfect for her. As an actress, I’ve loved every minute of having that dress-up time.”

Cath’s last appearance on Corrie came last night as her character Eva made a surprise appearance at the inquest into Aidan’s death.

Eva made an emotional speech, in which she showed regret that she’d been unable to stop him committing suicide.

And as she left in a taxi with baby Susie, Corrie fans were left gutted that she was departing.

One wrote on Twitter: “Eva was amazing tonight. Totally felt the emotion. So sad to see her go.”

Another added: “Going to miss Eva on the cobbles. What a good couple of eps to send off with. Brill character and acting.”

And a third said: “Oh I’m going to miss Eva the diva from #Corrie. @Cath_Tyldesley has been fabulous.”

Cath may not have enjoyed wearing Eva’s outfits, but she’ll no doubt look back on her Corrie time with fond memories.

She concluded her Twitter video by saying: “I would just like to say to everybody who has supported me over the last seven years, and the character of Eva Price, thank you so much. I have loved every minute of it.”
