Love Island viewers question why Caroline Flack wasn’t at dumping

There's a simple explanation, though!

Love Island fans all had the same question about last night’s dumping: where was Caroline Flack?!

Usually the Love Island host sashays into the villa in slow motion looking super glamorous to announce the results of the latest public vote.

But on Thursday night’s episode she was nowhere to be seen despite FOUR islanders going home!

Instead, the whole dumping ceremony was done via text messages read out by the islanders, rather than Caroline leading things by the fire pit.

It didn’t go unnoticed by viewers who took to Twitter in droves to ask what was going on and say they missed having Caroline in charge.

One wrote: “Is Caroline off sick or something?” Another said: “Must be Caroline’s day off.”

A third added: “Where is Caroline Flack? Why’s this being done by text?”

And a fourth joked: “Biggest shock about this dumping is the lack of Caroline! How dare  dump her for the night.”

Scores of other viewers asked the same question, with some wondering if it was disappointing for the islanders not to get that final chat with Caroline before leaving.

Many contacted Caroline directly to find out what was happening, although she’s yet to reply about why she wasn’t on the episode.

However, a spokesperson for Love Island pointed out to ED! that Caroline isn’t always present at every dumping and text messages have been used for dumping ceremonies across all four series.

Mystery solved, then! But hopefully Caroline’s back soon!

It was a dramatic episode of Love Island as FOUR contestants were sent home at once.

Viewers had been voting for their favourite couple, and the three couples with the least votes were named as Adam Collard and Darylle Sargeant, Ellie Jones and Sam Bird, and Megan Barton Hanson and Alex Miller.

In a shock twist, the villa’s only two singletons – Wes Nelson and Georgia Steel – had the power to save two people by coupling up with them, sending the rest home.

Wes chose his old flame Megan while Georgia opted for Sam.

That meant saying goodbye to original islander Adam, and newcomers Darylle, Ellie and Alex, who only arrived when the villa was split in two.

Love Island continues 9pm on ITV2.
