Robert White and Big Narstie react to Britain’s Got Talent ‘pushing’ incident

Viewers were outraged

Rapper Big Narstie has apologised after appearing to push to Britain’s Got Talent finalist Robert White away during Wednesday’s edition of Britain’s Got More Talent.

During the show, Robert was celebrating landing a place in Sunday night’s final and tried to dance with Big Narstie during singer Anne-Marie’s performance.

But the rapper was having none of it and pushed Robert away from him and out of the frame of the camera.

Some viewers weren’t too happy with Big Narstie’s gesture but on Thursday, the grime singer set the record straight on Twitter saying his personal space was “invaded”.

Robert also took to Twitter to address the incident and defended Big Narstie, real name Tyrone Lindo, telling fans to “give him the benefit of the doubt.”

He wrote: “Big Narstie hi-fived, shook and then made up. No bad feelings from me.

“To me the visual joke was obvious; the tiny guy dancing with the big guy, but not everyone thinks in comedy, so I think you should give the benefit of the doubt.”

One person replied to Robert: “Bigger person than most, majority would hold a grudge,” to which Robert responded: “I know what it’s like to be misunderstood.”

Big Narstie replied to Robert saying: “My g, all love [expletive] smash da final (sic).”

On Thursday’s Britain’s Got More Talent, host Stephen Mulhern discussed the moment with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

As Stephen was talking to viewers, Simon interrupted: “By the way, what happened last night on the show? I’m reading all this stuff.”

After struggling to figure out what Simon was referring to, Stephen replied: “Oh, we don’t talk about that.”

Simon hit back: “Well we do because it’s in the news and I want to know what happened.”

Stephen said: “Big Narstie did something he shouldn’t have done…” to which Simon asked: “What?”

The presenter continued: “He pushed our winner…” as the audience booed.

Simon asked: “But what did [Robert] do to him?” to which Stephen said Robert did “literally nothing” and the whole moment was “bizarre.”

Music mogul Cowell asked Stephen if he stepped in after Big Narstie pushed Robert.

“Well, [Big Narstie] is a big bloke,” Stephen said. “But I did make sure Robert was okay, that was the important thing.”
