Amanda Barrie puts Shane Janek in his place in Celebrity Big Brother

Seconds out for round two... ding ding!

| Updated:

It wouldn’t be Celebrity Big Brother without a difference of opinion would it?

This time it’s the turn of former Coronation Street star Amanda Barrie, who has had to have words with Shane Jenek.

Amanda found herself sticking up for Ann in a chat with Ashley and Shane.

As she directed the conversation to Shane she said: “I think the gay rights thing is a bit dodgy actually. I get on with Ann and I’m in a civil partnership. I don’t discuss it, I don’t discuss her Catholicism. That’s it full stop I like her. That’s it.”

She went on: “You think you’re a platform for gay rights or something, are you not even in a civil partnership? So, you know.”

Shane replied: “No. I said to Ann there are many things I don’t agree with her opinions but I respect her right to have an opinion.”

Amanda seemed to become incensed by what Shane had said, and quickly replied: “And do you know what, it’s mirror talk, because you have opinions and quite often people with strong opinions, when they meet somebody else’s strong opinions, have a mirror reaction to it.”

Shane added: “I think the difference is that I’m not dictating to anyone else.”

Which infuriated Amanda, who said: “She’s not dictating for God’s sake. Look at the way you’ve all behaved!”

He went on: “In 23 years she has voted against every single pro LGBT piece of legislation!”

Amanda then responded: “Darling It doesn’t affect me at all. I’m married! What are you talking about?”

“But Amanda,” replied Shane. “You have those rights, not because of Ann, but because of the people that stood up against Ann.”

Amanda said: “I’ve been like this since I was born and I didn’t expect when I got married, we didn’t ask for anyone’s acceptance, every single person has taken it for who we are. It’s not all about gay rights.”

Shane nodded in agreement saying: “Oh Amanda I absolutely know that. I believe a woman has the right to what happens to her body… Ann doesn’t even agree with abortion.”

Amanda then turned on her heel to head towards the bedroom, but before she went in she said: “I’m going to bed now. I still like you, I still love you in some ways but I can’t take too much [bleep] that’s all.”

But always one to have the last word, Shane shouted after her: “Well if you don’t want to stay around to have the conversation you started then there’s nothing I can do about that.”

The pair then went their separate ways, which leaves us wondering just what will get said tonight?
