Adam Thomas drops a BIG hint about his final Emmerdale storyline

His Twitter quip is sure to have fans guessing

| Updated:

Ever since Adam Thomas announced that he would be leaving Emmerdale later this year after eight years on the soap, we’ve all been speculating on how his character Adam Barton might be written out.

The most likely reason for his exit is marital problems – he and Victoria Sugden have really hit the skids since it was found out they can’t have children. And then there was Adam’s snog with his ex, Vanessa.

But with Emmerdale bosses not giving anything away, the suspense is killing us.

And now, the actor himself has added fuel to the fire by dropping a hint on Twitter.

Sounding a little bored with his current work on the show, the 29-year-old sent his employers a cheeky tweet: “Dear Emmerdale, any chance I can have a storyline?”

The official Emmerdale account responded in a similarly irreverent fashion: “Dearest Adam, Nah. Sincerest, Emmerdale x.”

They then added a note on the end of the tweet saying: “(Maybe.)”

That prompted the father-of-one to reply, cryptically: “If I leave in a taxi,” alongside a series of angry-face emojis.

So, make of that what you will. But whatever the storyline turns out to be, suffice to say it’ll be a biggie.

When it was announced that Adam was leaving, series producer Iain MacLeod said: “Everyone will be really gutted to see Adam go!

“He’s a top bloke and a really talented actor. But he’s given us a lot of notice, so we’ve been able to prepare a huge exit story for him.”

We’re sure that’ll help Adam come to terms with his departure. While it was his decision to leave the show, he admitted recently that he’ll be sad to go.

“I’ve had an amazing eight years working on Emmerdale and I’ve loved every minute of it,” said the actor, who appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!” last year.

“It was a really tough decision to take to leave, but I felt that now is the time to move on and challenge myself with some new roles.

“I’d like to thank everyone at Emmerdale for both giving me the opportunity to work as part of such a great team, and for giving my character Adam Barton some great storylines too.”

The most dramatic of those storylines is set to air in early 2018 – we can’t wait to see what it is!
