We’re sure a few tears were shed when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby said goodbye to This Morning earlier this month, as they headed off on their summer break.
The popular presenters usually take the school holidays off, and won’t be back on the show until September.
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford – who usually front the programme on Fridays – have taken on Phillip and Holly’s Monday to Thursday duties while they’re away. So the producers have decided to fill Eamonn and Ruth’s Friday slot with a series of guest presenters.
And one of the confirmed names is sure to add some Spice to proceedings…
That’s right, folks, Geri Horner – aka Geri Halliwell/Ginger Spice/the loud one in the world’s most successful girl band – is about to hit our TV screens.
The mother-of-two, 44, has already been to ITV’s London studios to rehearse for the role, with a source telling The Mirror that she’s “over the moon” to be fronting the show.
And with no concrete plans for a Spice Girls reunion, a career in TV sounds like a sensible option.
“Geri wants to reinvent herself as a telly host, and this was an offer she couldn’t turn down,” said the source.

“She’s keen to take her TV career further, loves This Morning and has appeared on it several times.
“It’s going to be the beginning of a glittering TV career. It’s a massive coup for This Morning to sign Geri. She’s very popular and has a massive following, especially with stay-at-home mums.”
Let’s hope her new telly job works out better than when she guested on Saturday Kitchen last month.
The singer divided fans with her appearance on the BBC cookery programme, which saw her chattering 19-to-the-dozen and giggling uncontrollably when a caller to the show referred to a “massive pork loin”.
Following that episode, one viewer remarked on Twitter: “Congratulations to @GeriHalliwell for being the most annoying person to ever appear on TV!”
Another concurred: “Geri Horner (Halliwell), the most annoying guest on Saturday Kitchen ever. Never again please.”

But not everyone found her stint irritating, and there were plenty of comments singing her praises.
“@GeriHalliwell is one of my new fav people after her appearance on #SaturdayKitchen,” gushed one fan.
And another asked: “Can @GeriHalliwell present @SaturdayKitchen every week??”
The answer, of course, is no. But we’re sure that particular viewer will be chuffed that Geri is going to be fronting This Morning.
And by all accounts, Geri herself can’t wait to get started.
It sounds like she’s doing what she wants, what she really really wants.
