Holly Willoughby’s latest look has completely divided fan opinion

Even her die-hard followers are on the fence with this outfit

Another day, another opportunity to deplete our bank accounts after Holly Willoughby unveils her latest ensemble in her daily Instagram snap.

This week, she’s already treated us to the blue floral dress of dreams from none other than high street haunt Oasis, and a pair of lilac heels, which are currently in the Office sale! So yes, by the end of the week, we’re usually skint.

However, somewhat unexpectedly, Holly’s chosen look for today’s This Morning show has left her fans on the fence as to whether it works or not.

In a brave sartorial move, the 37-year-old mother of three opted for a red and black polkadot wrap skirt from Zara, which she clashed with another polkadot piece – a black and white blouse from Jigsaw.

While both items are lovely in their own right, there’s just something about the look that her loyal legion of fans doesn’t quite resonate with.

One such follower said: “For the first time ever it’s a no! You normally look stunning but this outfit is awful”, while another offered some solace: “Phew… makes me feel human to see you in an “off” outfit. Otherwise you would be nailing it 100% of the time. And nobody likes a show off [sic]”.

Truth is, while Holly can do no wrong in our eyes, this isn’t our favourite look of hers either – and we think we know where she may have went wrong.

The easiest way to clash your polkadots is 1) to stick to a colour palette of three shades (which, granted, Holly did) and 2) to vary the sizing of your spots.

Holly’s look would have been more of a style triumph had it featured a smaller spot print on one of her garments, as opposed to both pieces having a similar motif size.

Don’t let the reception Holly’s attire received put you off trying the trend for yourself – it needn’t be as daunting to take on as you might think.

Here, we’ve whittled down the key polkadot pieces you need to achieve peak chic levels – just stick to our clashing rule and you won’t put a fashion foot wrong.
