Coronation Street’s Leon Ockenden shares childhood photo

He first appeared in Coronation Street last year

| Updated:

This utterly adorable little boy grew up to be one of Coronation Street’s psycho villians.

The actor has been on and off the Cobbles since 2016 and is soon set to leave the soap following his disturbing storyline.

He has also had stints in BBC’s Waterloo Road and briefly joined ITV’s This Morning as one of the show’s chefs for its cooking segment.

Can you guess which Corrie star this little lad grew up to be?

It’s Leon Ockenden!

Leon is best known for his current role on Coronation Street as Will Chatterton – a former flame of Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).

The actor uploaded the throwback snap to his Instagram as he wrote: “Me. 37 years ago. #grumpyfaces.”

What a little sweetie!

Leon’s character Will first appeared in the soap last year as Michelle’s love interest.

At the time, Steve was in Spain recovering from his depression and Michelle felt alone and unloved. She was planning Will’s fancy wedding, but ended up snogging the groom and almost falling into bed with him.

But with his return earlier this year things took an unexpected turn.

Stalker Will kidnapped Michelle by drugging her and putting her in the boot of his car.

Michelle, who has no idea it was Will who kidnapped her, was finally rescued by police and reunited with her boyfriend Robert Preston.

Michelle had no memory of the night she was kidnapped and tried to explain what had happened to the police.

Recalling the night she said: “We had a row and then I dropped my friends off in town and I went to a bar. I didn’t go to our local because we know everyone in there. I went to bar 103 in town.

“I just had one drink. I remember feeling like it went straight to my head. I think I remember leaving and then nothing. Nothing until I woke up in the car.”

Now it’s been revealed that Leon will be leaving the soap later this year.

The star recently appeared on ITV’s This Morning to talk about how the storyline will come to a “dramatic climax” next month.

He told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: “So I finished on Coronation Street a week and a half ago.

“The good news for everybody is that it builds to a head and the story really builds to a climax.

“I think it’s a fitting and dramatic climax for everyone around September.”

Leon was also known for his role as PE teacher Hector Reid in the hit series Waterloo Road.

He also stood in for TV chef Phil Vickery on lunchtime show This Morning last year for their regular cooking segment.
