Helen Flanagan addresses return to Coronation Street after maternity leave

She really misses her soap colleagues

Helen Flanagan has said she’d love to return to Coronation Street after maternity leave if she can work it around her two children.

The actress, who plays Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, told ITV’s Lorraine nothing has been set in stone yet about a return but she really misses her colleagues.

Lorraine Kelly asked Helen: “Obviously you’re taking time off Coronation Street. Will you be going back? We’d love to have you back! She’s a cracking character.”

Helen, 28, replied: “I miss everyone so much. I really miss Sally [Dynevor], who plays my mum. We are really, really close.”

Lorraine then pointed out: “She’s in jail just now! It’s all kicking off, Helen. She needs you, definitely!”

Helen, who is also mum to three-year-old Matilda, said: “I would love to [come back], definitely. It needs to be something that obviously works around the girls.

“I do miss everyone. I miss the social bit as well. I think it’s important when you have a newborn baby to still go out and meet other mums with babies and go to baby groups so you don’t feel on your own with the baby.

“I think it’s really important to get out there and not just stay in the house.”

While Helen isn’t returning to Corrie quite yet, she does have another project to work on.

She’s launched her own maternity and breastfeeding lingerie collection after thinking there was a gap in the market for functional yet pretty bras.

“I’ve started a maternity breastfeeding range called Delilah Ruby,” she said.

“I wanted to have some cool breastfeeding bras. I felt there was a gap in the market for some cool ones and I wanted a project I could do at home with the baby.

“I think it’s important as a mum to still have your identity and own work and be able to do something at home.”

Helen was joined on the Lorraine sofa by little Delilah, who was as good as gold as she was cradled by her soap star mum throughout the interview.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.
