What with murderer Lachlan White on the loose, Ross Barton’s acid attacker still evading justice and schoolgirl Amelia Spencer missing, it’s no wonder Emmerdale fans are desperate for a bit of romance.
And viewers are hoping Matty Barton will be the one to provide it!
Matty arrived back in the Dales on Monday (25 June) and was reunited with old friend Victoria Sugden.
And fans believe they saw a spark of chemistry between the former school frenemies.
Transgender Matty – who was last seen in the village as Hannah Barton – has stayed away from his family as he transitioned.

But he returned to Emmerdale after two years away to get his birth certificate.
Rather than knock on the door, he broke into his former home and was caught by step-dad Cain Dingle, who didn’t recognise him.
After being kicked out by his mum, who struggled to come to terms with his new identity, Matty found a place to stay in Victoria’s van.
And when they came face to face, viewers saw sparks fly.
Victoria is married to Matty’s brother Adam, but the pair are estranged as he is currently on the run from prison.
Despite the obstacles between them, fans believe a relationship is budding.

Newcomer Ash Palmisciano is Emmerdale’s first regular transgender cast member.
Speaking about his arrival, Ash recently said: “I’m very excited to be joining the very welcoming Emmerdale family.
“From nervous auditions to now working alongside the team daily has been truly amazing.
“Matty’s a groundbreaking character to play and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for him.”
