Lachlan White looks to be on the verge of confessing to murdering his best friend Gerry Roberts in Emmerdale.
Viewers watched two weeks ago as the evil millionaire bludgeoned hapless Gerry to death with a stone after collapsing the B&B on him.
He murdered Gerry for discovering his secret role in killing his mother and grandfather.
But with Doug Potts being consumed with guilt over thinking he caused Gerry’s untimely death, the funeral for the village favourite is going to be seriously difficult for all concerned.
However things take a turn for Lachlan’s guilt when Gerry’s dodgy uncle Terry suddenly declares he can’t and won’t speak at the funeral.

In a spoiler clip posted on the soap’s website, Terry says: “Sorry I need to go, I can’t.
“I was never even there for the lad. I can’t do it, it’s too painful.
“I just want to miss him on my own for a bit and grieve. And say sorry more private, you know.
“Doug will do it, he was much closer to him than me anyway. I’m sorry I’m too upset.”
And with that Doug has to make his way up to speak about the boy he thinks he killed, as Lachlan looks on, seemingly close to breaking point himself.
Speaking to the mourners in Emmerdale’s village church, Doug tells them: “His death will be on my conscience forever.
“But when I think of him now I think of this unique, daft, lovely lad.

“I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ll miss him.”
Lachlan watches on, consumed by his guilt for killing Gerry and letting Doug face the consequences for it.
But will he confess all? And will he make sure Doug is freed from his manslaughter conviction?
