Jealous Victoria accidentally ruins Matty’s chances with his new love interest Abby next week when she gets the wrong end of the stick and lets slip he’s transgender.

As the week kicks off, Victoria is finding it tougher and tougher to hide her jealousy as Matty talks about Abby and shows off pictures of her to Pete Barton.
She’s delighted though when Matty asks her to spend his birthday with him and asks Charity and Marlon for the day off so they can celebrate in style.
But she’s left disappointed when Abby texts Matty asking to meet the next day and Matty forgets to let Victoria know about the change of plan.
She ends up playing third wheel and has to contain her feelings as Matty and Abby kiss in front of her.
Matty then tells Victoria, unaware that he’s rubbing salt into her wounds, that he’s planning on telling Abby that he’s trans later that day.
When Victoria spots Abby crying later, she assumes Matty has told her and has a go at her for not being more undesrtanding.
She’s got the wrong end of the stick though and is mortified when she realises Abby didn’t know after all.
Matty is left absolutely devastated. Will he be able to forgive Victoria?
Victoria will have had a serious case of the green-eyed monster since Abby starts flirting at Ross Barton’s party in scenes to air this week.
Emmerdale fans have been hoping the pair would get together since Matty arrived back in the village in June.
They’ve taken to social media to talk about the spark they think they have spotted.
Transgender Matty – who was last seen in the village as Hannah Barton – has stayed away from his family as he transitioned.
But he returned to Emmerdale after six years away to get his birth certificate.
Rather than knock on the door, he broke into his former home and was caught by step-dad Cain Dingle, who didn’t recognise him.
After being kicked out by his mum, who struggled to come to terms with his new identity, Matty found a place to stay in Victoria’s van.
And when they came face to face, viewers saw sparks fly.
Victoria is married to Matty’s brother Adam, but the pair are estranged as he is currently on the run from prison.
Despite the obstacles between them, fans believe a relationship is budding.
One said: “I’m calling it now. A Matty/Victoria romance as he reminds her of all Adams’ good points.”

Newcomer Ash Palmisciano is Emmerdale’s first regular transgender cast member.
Speaking about his arrival, Ash recently said: “I’m very excited to be joining the very welcoming Emmerdale family.
“From nervous auditions to now working alongside the team daily has been truly amazing.
“Matty’s a groundbreaking character to play and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for him.”
