Paddy Kirk is a broken man, and Emmerdale fans are very worried about him.
The lovable local vet and fan favourite has been through something no parent should ever have to, and is struggling in the aftermath.

The parents were recently forced to say goodbye to their baby girl Grace, when she died just hours after being born.
Devastatingly, she was diagnosed with the rare condition bilateral renal agenesis while still in the womb, but Paddy and Chas refused to terminate the pregnancy.
Since the death and subsequent burial of their baby girl, both Chas and Paddy have been struggling to cope.

Paddy especially has been bottling up his emotions, trying to be strong for Chas.
In fact, it’s having the opposite effect and the pair seem to be more estranged than ever.
This week, having already gone back to work at the veterinary surgery (too soon Paddy!), the grieving villager broke down after a pet died under his care.
On Wednesday night’s emotional episode (7 November), Paddy had a complete breakdown over the death sparking fears he may leave the village.
Fans now have every right to be worried that his inability to grieve may end with him spiralling out of control and into a pit of deep depression.

Spoilers suggest that Paddy and Chas may even split up in upcoming scenes and that troubled times ahead may even lead to Paddy leaving the Dales.
This would be a heartbreaking end to an already tragic story.
