Tameka Empson hints at Vincent’s return as Kim’s due date nears on EastEnders

Tameka Empson promises answers to his disappearance

| Updated:

EastEnders actress Tameka Empson has teased the mystery surrounding her onscreen husband’s disappearance from Walford could soon be solved.

Appearing on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch earlier today, the 41-year-old soap favourite hinted Vincent Hubbard – played by Richard Blackwood – could turn up as her character Kim gives birth to their second child.

Vincent has been missing from Albert Square for six months after being escorted to an unknown destination by heavies working for gangster Aidan Maguire.

Presumed murdered by fans, the character looked to have escaped being killed off following a storyline in which a dead body – believed to be the businessman and police informant – was found before it was established it was not Vincent’s remains.

And now viewers have been given another clue Vincent may have survived after Tameka highlighted how becoming a dad again could draw him out into the open.

“Kim is pregnant so obviously the time is coming up where she’s going to have the baby,” Tameka told show host Tim Lovejoy.

Indicating Kim may not have to be on her own with her newborn for long, she continued: “That all happens and then you see how she copes with being a single mother – or not.

But could Tameka just be pointing out how Kim struggles with coping on her own?

Or alternatively, could the Inside Soap Award winner be suggesting Kim soon shacks up with a new partner?

After all, comedian Richard has been confirmed for the next series of Dancing On Ice, due to begin in January.

While his time on the ITV show might not necessarily prevent him from filming soap scenes, it could be a barrier to a full time return at that time.

That seems particularly relevant when considering the timing of when Tameka promised more crucial details would be forthcoming.

Asked directly where she reckoned Vincent may have been all this time, she replied: “Where is he? I don’t know.”

She added: “There are lots of answers that will come about come Christmas.”

At least Richard, who appeared on ‘Enders for three years from 2015, is open to a comeback.

“As an actor, you would hope that the door is somewhat left ajar,” he told Digital Spy at the time of his exit from the soap.

Earlier this week, Robbie Jackson actor Dean Gaffney claimed an “iconic” character would return to EastEnders at Christmas.

He said: “There’s certain people that come back to a show, they might not add to it, but this person definitely adds to it!”

Could that be Vincent?
