EastEnders star Kacey Ainsworth wants to snog Mick Carter in Little Mo comeback plot

Soap actress wants to sweeten the deal for any potential Little Mo return

Soap favourite Kacey Ainsworth has revealed the opportunity to snog Danny Dyer would clinch her comeback to Albert Square.

The Grantchester star said she would never rule out a return for her EastEnders character Little Mo, but that any Walford appearances must wait for the meantime as she’s so busy in other roles.

But Kacey, 49, admitted she has discussed heading back to EastEnders with her Slater siblings after a 12 year absence from the BBC One soap.

Appearing on Loose Women, the two-time British Soap Award winner for Best Actress said potential storyline ideas have been considered by show chiefs.

“It is asked a million times and it’s really lovely, very flattering, because she was such a great character,” she replied when asked about whether she would be up for playing Little Mo again.

She continued: “I’m still in contact with all my screen sisters. We’re really close. We talked a lot in the past about going back.

“The writers on EastEnders are amazing and brilliant and my old boss is there now.

“We talked lots of different storylines but I’m so busy with Grantchester. I’m filming all summer and Grantchester is a global programme now.”

Kacey added: “I’m also filming in America, so it would have to be logistically right.”

She also insisted she would only be tempted back to Albert Square if her character’s development rang true with fans.

Kacey reflected: “I loved her so much. She was such a brilliant character. I wouldn’t want to dilute her by going back with anything.”

There would be another proviso, too, to make Mo’s comeback happen – she would have to be set up for a fumble in the pub with landlord Mick Carter.

Kacey laughed: “I’ll only go back if I can get behind the Queen Vic and have a snog with Danny Dyer!”

Reminiscing about other previous onscreen kisses as Little Mo, Kacey added she had indeed locked lips with host Coleen Nolan’s ex husband Shane Richie (as Alfie Moon).

“I can’t remember it!” she insisted.

“Who hasn’t?!” Coleen mugged to the studio audience to applause and laughter.

– EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays (8pm), Tuesdays (7.30pm), Thursdays (7.30pm) and Fridays (8pm)
