Davood Ghadami has revealed that his EastEnders character Kush Kazemi will soon “fall apart”.
The usually upbeat character, who is dating Denise, had his heart broken in May when his little brother Shakil was murdered.
He was stabbed to death in a harrowing storyline aimed at tackling the knife crime epidemic in the UK at the moment.

In a new interview, Strictly star Davood hinted that Kush’s grief over his brother’s death is going to be explored further in upcoming episodes.
Kush has tried to be strong for his devastated mum, who has struggled to cope in the aftermath of her son’s brutal killing.
However, Davood has promised that viewers will see more of Kush’s reaction to the tragedy as the story continues to unfold.

In an interview with Digital Spy, he said: “At the moment, Kush’s focus is entirely with his mum. That is very natural to him, but it’s also something that can keep his focus away from the tragedy of what’s happened.
“But there is no way that someone can go through this and not let it touch on everything you do – whether you think about it every minute, every hour, everyday.
“Kush has been through a lot of tragedy in his life anyway and it just seems to get closer and closer to home for him. It’s not something he’s going to be able to just lock away.”
He added: “Right now, Kush wants to look after his mum and this is something we noticed when the special contributors were in. Everybody brought one person along with them and they were holding onto that person during it.
“It happens when tragedies occur in families… when one person is falling apart, there is someone around to hold them up. At some point, that is going to change and that will happen to Kush – he’ll be the one falling apart.”
Last month, EastEnders announced that Shakil’s funeral will break with tradition and feature true-life accounts from those affected by knife crime.
The special episode will include footage of those victims of tragedy talking to camera about the devastation caused by senseless knife crime.
Discussing the episode, Davood said: “My initial thought was that it was a very bold and incredibly brave thing for EastEnders and especially the contributors to be doing.
“It was an unforgettable experience hearing them talk about their loved ones, and by the end of the day I think we all felt that what we were doing with these episodes was something remarkable.”
The emotional episode is due to air next week.
