Corrie SPOILER: New landlord of The Rovers revealed

It seems the wait is finally over...

With Peter Barlow selling his half of the pub, and Toyah Battersby unable to find the funds to buy him out, The Rovers has officially been put up for sale.

But don’t worry – we won’t have a stranger’s face behind the bar, in fact the new landlord will be very familiar to Coronation Street fans.

It seems the Connors could be the new family dynasty on the cobbles, because according to reports in The Sun, none other than Johnny Connor is going to be buying the pub.

According to the paper, Johnny will buy The Rovers because of the emotional connection it holds to his late son, Aidan.

The pub was the last place Johnny saw his son alive before he went home to take his own life.

A Corrie insider reportedly told The Sun: “Coronation Street bosses are really trying to big up the Connors as the new family on the block, and want them to be as big as the Barlows.

“There are big plans for them in terms of storylines, and first up is taking over the pub.

“It was the last place he saw Aidan before he went home to kill himself, so when he hears it’s up for grabs he swoops in and takes control.”

But Johnny should be warned, if he’s looking for a quiet life, The Rovers isn’t the place to go!

The pub is usually the centre of most of the cobbles’ dramas, and that’s why we love it so much.

The pub has had some unforgettable faces behind the bar over the years.

Annie Walker, Bet Lynch and Jack Duckworth are just some of the famous faces who have pulled pints over the years.

Has Johnny got what it takes to live up to these infamous characters?

Entertainment Daily! contacted Coronation Street but they declined to comment.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
