Coronation Street’s Mollie Winnard has revealed she owes Michelle Keegan a debt.
The actress has her predecessor Michelle to thank for helping her win the role as Corrie newcomer Kayla.

The soap star is currently at the centre of a gripping storyline between Bethany Platt and Craig Tinker.
Her mysterious character has just been exposed as the daughter of rapist policeman Neil Clifton.
But perhaps none of it would have been possible without a helping hand from Michelle.

In a recent interview with radiotimes.com, Mollie reveals a surprising connection to the former soap star.
She says: “I always looked up to Michelle Keegan, and weirdly she ended up helping me with my Corrie audition!
“We go to the same acting school, Mark Hudson’s Manchester School of Acting, and I was due to see my teacher but they were delayed, and I ran into his previous appointment which was with Michelle.”
Mollie adds: “So she offered to run some lines with me to help me practice. I’d never met her before. I was red faced, really nervous. So she prepped me for this role.
“Afterwards she even rang my acting teacher to ask how I got on in the audition!”
How sweet!
And fans have noticed another link between the former Corrie actress Michelle, now starring in Our Girl, and newcomer Mollie – they look alike!
Fans have been amazed at the resemblance between the two actresses, with one writing: “Is it just me or is Kayla the absolute spitting image of Michelle Keegan?”
Another even joked: “Are there plans to throw Kayla off a rooftop like Michelle Keegan?”
A third added: “Kayla in @itvcorrie sounds eerily like @michkeegan – even kinda looks a little bit like her…..in a half sister or cousin sort of way….do miss Tina. Just have to make do with my #OurGirl fix on a Tuesday! Need to watch that Kayla. #shestrouble.”

Michelle’s character Tina arrived on the cobbles in 2008.
The daughter of Joe and Ann McIntyre, she embarked on an intense relationship with David Platt and became the surrogate for Gary and Izzy’s baby son Jake.
Yet in a shocking turn of events, the popular character was tragically murdered in 2014.
