It doesn’t take long for Alya to get her feet well and truly under the table, telling the factory staff that she is now in charge.

Trying to assert her new-found authority, Alya manages to put a few noses out of joint as she ties to get her workers’ respect… and Carla is left livid.

Corrie insiders have hinted to Digital Spy that Carla is set to rope Beth Sutherland into her scheme to get Alya out.

Carla bribes Beth to tamper with the orders at Underworld, hoping that the disruption will be enough to make Alya panic and realise that she isn’t cut out to be a factory boss.

In Carla’s mind, she will then swoop in and restore order to Underworld, making Alya see that she is the one who should be sitting at the boss’s desk.

There’s just one problem though, and it is a huge fly in the ointment.

Beth confides in husband Kirk and tries to rope him into the plotting, too.

Can Kirk be trusted with this huge secret, or is Carla’s revenge plan about to be exposed?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
