Here’s where you know the Corrie copper from!

He was seen grilling Abi this week

Occasionally faces pop up in dramas and soaps and they look familiar… but we can’t quite place them and don’t know their names.

If the detective grilling Abi in this week’s Corrie left you scratching your heads, worry no more.

DC Hough interrogated Abi after she was arrested for trashing Tracy’s flower shop, an act of vandalism actually carried out by son Seb.

The detective’s line of questions was met by several stubborn “no comment” comebacks from Abi.

Now, if the scene made you want to stick the kettle on and make an evening coffee, there could have been some subliminal business occurring.

The actor Philip Hill-Pearson also appeared in a Nescafe ad; the one where a man stands in front of an audience of thousands and asks everyone who doesn’t know his nickname at school to sit down!

Philip is no novice to soaps, though, having appeared in Corrie as the same character before, and Emmerdale as Jared, one-time friend of Amy Wyatt, in 2011.

He also appeared in Doctors playing a couple of bit parts.

Phillip and Sally Carman, who plays Abi, have appeared in the same show before.
