In scenes to air in the New Year, Mary is on a mission to discover the whereabouts of her missing son Jude.

Despite viewers giving up on the pathological liar months ago, Mary is convinced their relationship can be rebuilt if he gets help.

But will she feel the same when she tracks him down and finds out his worst lie to date?

With the help of a private investigator, Mary and loyal gopher Roy head to a B&B in Blackpool where Jude has been spotted.

When Mary sees her son, she begs him to come home. But Jude tells her he can’t because he owes the B&B owner £500.

While Mary heads off to find a cashpoint, Jude turns to his new girlfriend Kelly and paints himself as a surgeon, telling her Mary is one of his patients!

Roy is shocked when Jude calls himself Dr Ken Barlow, and the horrible truth about Jude’s web of lies reveals itself.

When Roy confronts Jude, Kelly is furious and reveals even more shocking facts about his whole new identity.

However, mum Mary is determined to stand by her son… but is she destined for more heartbreak?

We know Jude is leaving the soap for good, after actor Paddy Wallace told This Morning in October: “I have shot my final scenes.

“It’s been amazing; I came in for four episodes, it’s such a wonderful place to work.”

We last saw Jude in dramatic scenes last month when his lies caught up with him, and wife Angie gave up on their marriage.

He attempted to flee Weatherfield with his son, but hero-without-a-cape Roy talked him around and Jude left on a tram alone.
