Gail will discover that Audrey has agreed to give the fraudster another chance next week when Audrey lies to her about being on a cruise.

Gail’s suspicions are piqued when she discovers that the ship Audrey is claiming to be on was scrapped months ago.

Worried, Gail heads round to Audrey’s house and is horrified to find her there on a romantic date with Lewis.

Gail is left reeling as Lewis ripped her off for £40k back in 2013, leaving her well and truly up the creek without a paddle in sight.

Horrified that Audrey is back in contact with Lewis, Gail pleads with her to call things off before he pulls another stunt.

But Audrey is having none of it and asks Gail to accept the fact Lewis is back in her life.

When David clocks that Audrey won’t back down over Lewis, he lets his gran free, much to Gail’s annoyance.

Is Gail right to be worried? Or has Lewis really changed his ways this time?

Meanwhile Corrie fans have become convinced that there is a connection between Lewis and that other cobbles conman Duncan Radfield.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed there are striking similarities between the two cobbles conmen.

Lewis will make a shock comeback to the cobbles this week as he sends Audrey Roberts a visiting order from prison.

“Actually the reason I’m here is down to you Audrey,” he tells her as she sits down.

“You see soon after we parted I found myself sitting in a hotel room drinking a wonderfully smooth burgundy and I knew I should be celebrating you allowing me to escape.

“I was left thinking I’m free but what’s the point?

“All I can tell you is I’ve changed. You see I no longer want those things. That person is not who I wish to be.

“I know there’s nothing in this world that will make you believe me but I genuinely want to make amends.

“That’s why I handed myself in and admitted to my part in Rosemary’s scam.

“And to prove that I genuinely want to turn over a new leaf, I’ve arranged for £40,000 to be paid into Gail’s bank account.”

Long-time viewers of Corrie know that Lewis swindled Gail out of £40,000 after seducing her and her mother.

He let her think he was going to use to the money for their new home, but disappeared leaving her with nothing.

But intriguingly the sum of £40,000 has surfaced with another conman on the cobbles over recent weeks.

Duncan, the man who is setting Sally Metcalfe up to take the rap for fraud at the council, stole that precise amount too.

Could Duncan have stolen the money from the council to pay the money into Gail’s account?

And has Lewis turned over a new leaf or is he setting up Gail to take the fall for Sally?

But is it too much of a coincidence? Or is there a secret connection between Lewis and Duncan?
