Corrie SPOILER: Billy discovers Sean’s secret

The cat is finally out of the bag but will Sean accept help?

| Updated:

Sean Tully’s homeless secret comes to light next week after Billy Mayhew finds his ex at a food van.

Corrie fans have watched in horror over the past few weeks as Sean’s situation has got worse and worse.

First of all he was booted out of Fiz’s after not being able to pay his way due to not having the posh city job he’d lied about.

He managed to get his job back at the Rovers Return, but has since been fired after new owner Jenny catches him helping himself to some vodka.

Sean will hit his lowest ebb when he’s forced to beg on the streets for money.

But it looks like Billy could be his knight in shining armour when the vicar heads up to the Red Rec to deliver food to the van which is there feeding the homeless.

Billy is shocked when he spots Sean there, but the former barman makes up a quick story about volunteering.

He has to think on his feet again when his friend Carol arrives, explaining to Billy that she’s someone he used to know from his days at the bingo hall.

Will it be enough to convince Billy though?

As it turns out, it doesn’t matter because Carol collapses later after being attacked by a punter and Billy helps Sean get her to hospital.

Sean finally breaks down and confesses to Billy that he’s homeless.

He tells him the full story and admits he didn’t ask for help because all his friends seemed to be going through hard times of their own.

Billy calls Eileen to the hospital which angers Sean, who tells them he won’t accept their charity.

While Eileen and Billy lament about how they’ve let Sean down in his hour of need, Carol tells him not to end up like her and to accept their help.

Eileen and Billy are delighted when Sean returns to the Cobbles and admits he needs their help.

The friends are reunited and Billy offers Sean his sofa to sleep on.

Later he approaches Carla and asks her if he can have a job in the factory. What will she say?
