Corrie fans were horrified last night as battle-axe Evelyn Plummer sullied the memory of soap legend Vera Duckworth.
Fans cried “shame on you” as Evelyn discovered Vera’s jewellery box and stole some of her beloved items to wear herself.

Viewers know that Evelyn has been living with Tyrone and Fiz for a few months.
In fact, the house used to belong to Weatherfield royalty Jack and Vera Duckworth – who were like parents to Tyrone.
So it’s unsurprising that both Tyrone and Fiz – and many of the viewers – were upset when Evelyn stole Vera’s jewellery and started parading around the Street in it.

On Wednesday (7 November), Fiz clocked Evelyn in her “new” turquoise earrings and discovered Vera’s half-empty jewellery box under Evelyn’s bed.
After she showed Tyrone, he confronted his new nan and demanded to know why she thought it would be okay to take Vera’s trademark earrings.
He asked: “You’re big on respect are you? Maybe for the living, but not for the dead!”
And fans agreed, taking to social media to share their outrage.
One said: “Awww, I hope Evelyn hasn’t stolen, sold or pawned Vera Duckworth’s jewellery. Shame on her if she has! # Corrie.”
Another said: “OMG Evelyn has taken Vera’s earrings.”
A third (correctly) predicted that Evelyn is and will continue to keep coming between Fiz and Tyrone, typing: “OMG Vera’s stuff..!!! Tyrone you idiot don’t lose fizz you wally.”

One added: “I can hear Vera turning in her grave after hearing that some of her jewellery was stolen #Corrie.”
Actress Maureen Lipman has previously revealed that schemer Evelyn is in fact heavily involved in Fiz’s upcoming exit storyline.
Speaking on This Morning on Wednesday (7 November), she said: “She finds Fiz too common. A lot of the characters are what my mother would have called ‘common’.”
She continued: “Evelyn doesn’t think Fiz is good enough for what is or might be her grandson.
“I am elbows in between Fiz and Tyrone; I would say that I’m very involved in Fiz’s exit, short of kicking her up the backside!”
She added: “I’m staying on the show for a while, I’ve got my feet under the table now.”
