Coronation Street’s Gina is to be attacked by an aggressive date, in scenes currently being filmed.
Pictures published in The Sun show Sal’s vulnerable sister kneeing the attacker in the balls as she apparently attempts to escape him.
It’s understood she puts herself on the dating scene in an effort to run away from her growing feelings for her brother-in-law Tim.
Corrie fans are watching her grow increasingly close to him, as Sally languishes in prison.
And, much as she’s something of a car crash in other areas of her life, she doesn’t want to betray her sister.
Enter Dave, who Gina agrees to meet for a date and who turns nasty when she refuses to get, let’s say, busy with him.

But even a swift knee in the crotch doesn’t deter him and, angry about the rejection, he pursues her.
Oh… we have a worrying feeling this might draw her and Tim even closer together.
Gina’s not had much success with romance since pitching up in Weatherfield.

She was in a relationship with corner shop owner Dev for a time, but he recently split with her because he was embarrassed by her and didn’t want to take her to a ‘posh’ party.
Gina didn’t take it well, telling him: “Every time you look at me recently I see humiliation in your eyes.
“People who are embarrassed by me aren’t people I wanna be with.”
“I’m loud, I’m in your face, I know I wind people, up but if you can’t handle that then we’re over.”
Since then, she’s been spending more and more time with Tim, with viewers fearing they’ll get together now Sally’s away at Her Majesty’s Pleasure…
