Nick Tilsley’s downfall as Elsa and Carla team up on Coronation Street

The businessman has bitten off more than he can chew after returning to Weatherfield

Nick Tilsley is going to have his hands full in Coronation Street.

The businessman’s return to the cobbles hasn’t been a happy affair for everyone, not least his wife Elsa.

He opted not to fill her in on his plan to return to Weatherfield for good and instead lied to his new wife claiming his mum Gail was ill and needed him.

Instead he used her money to buy into Underworld, much to the annoyance of ex Carla Connor who owned the other shares.

However it will soon turn out to have been a major mistake when Carla and Elsa get together and decide that Nick shouldn’t be allowed to get away with his behaviour.

But with Leanne Battersby fully aware of Nick’s formerly secret marriage Elsa and Carla appear to have lost their main leverage against him.

That is until Carla realises Nick hasn’t been honest about where he got the money to buy the factory.

And with Elsa being every bit as smart as Carla, the pair team up to put an end to Nick’s actions.

She reminds her wayward husband that legally-speaking he defrauded her out of the money for the factory and so he’s going to have to pay her back.

But it is then that Carla realises she doesn’t even have to wait for Nick to agree to sell his shares to get him out of her life.

Speaking to Elsa, she points out that technically she is the owner of the other half of Underworld and asks her to go into business together.

And with the pair of them set to team up, could this mean the end for Nick as a businessman?

Actor Ben Price teased: “This is the point where Nick has to come clean but he won’t come completely clean, he will drip feed the info he wants to until he is cornered.

“He has started to believe his own version of events as that is the version that suits him. He is quite machiavellian in that respect. He has always wanted a family unit and has always failed.”
