Coronation Street fans are furious at Peter Barlow for betraying Carla Connor.
The recovering alcoholic went behind Carla’s back in last night’s episode and sold his share of Underworld out from under her.
He mistakenly believed Carla was going to try to buy him out, and instead of giving her a chance to explain herself, he took drastic action.
Summoning her to the factory, he sat alone with a glass of single malt.
And as Carla panicked that he was drinking again, instead he revealed it was for the man who had secretly bought his share of the factory – Nick Tilsley.

Peter told her: “The drink’s for Nick. We’ve just signed the contract which means he is now the proud owner of my share of Underworld.”
Cocky Nick then added: “Good to be back.”
But in a heartbreaking twist, it came as Carla tried to tell Peter she is still in love with him.

Nick walked in at exactly the moment Carla tried to say she “flaming loved Peter”.
And viewers were furious and heartbroken at the same time.
One tweeted: “Why are Nick & Peter being so cruel to lovely Carla @itvcorrie”
A second added: “The amount of times Carla almost told Peter that she loves him in last night’s @itvcorrie So close and yet so far.”
A third commented: “OMG was Carla actually about to just blurt out to Peter admitted she thinks she still flaming loves him?”
“If Jenny can forgive Johnny why can’t Carla also forgive Peter? Their both cheaters after all ain’t they?[sic]”

Another wrote: “Nothing has broken me more than Carla’s face when Peter tells her that Nick has got his shares, I never want to see her this sad EVER again she deserves better.
