Coronation Street fans are loving Brookside's Louis Emerick on the cobbles

He turned up as Steve's old school teacher

Coronation Street fans were delighted when a familiar face turned up in Weatherfield - none other than Mick Johnson from Brookside!

Well, not actual Mick, but the actor who played him, Louis Emerick turned up on the cobbles last night as new character Mike Thornberry - and caught the eye of Liz McDonald.

Mike is Liz's son, Steve's, former teacher and the Streetcars boss got a shock when he saw him propping up the bar in the Rovers Return.

Steve asked Liz to talk to Mike so he wasn't lumbered with him - not predicting that his mum would turn her Flirtometer up to FULL.

Mike is now working as a cabbie and Liz wanted to get him a job at Streetcars with an unimpressed Steve.
