Coronation Street confirms Abi Franklin is sent to prison for trashing the flower shop

She's facing Christmas behind bars

| Updated:

Just when we all thought that that Abi was out of the woods following a recent brush with the law, Coronation Street has revealed she WILL still be sent to prison.

And the reason for it will shock fans.

Last month rumours circulated that Abi would be sent to jail in the not too distant future, joining fellow cobbles resident Sally Metcalfe in prison.

Back then it was assumed that Abi would be doing time after being wrongly accused of sabotaging Michelle Connor’s car, leading to her terrifying car smash.

Abi had recently worked on the vehicle and, unbeknownst to her, Tracy Barlow had tampered with it after suspecting her friend was cheating with Steve.

Following the crash, which resulted in Ronan Truman’s death, Abi was hauled in for questioning before the police were forced to drop their investigation into her.

But the long arm of the law is still coming for her…

Next week the mum of three decides that she is going to put her young twins up for adoption, believing they have got a better chance in life without her as their mother.

Her eldest son, Seb, is fuming when he finds out and blames Tracy. He lashes out by trashing her flower shop – but while he might feel better after venting his anger, the police are soon involved.

Abi immediately steps in and takes the blame for Seb’s behaviour, but protecting her son will leave her with a prison stay on her hands.

The official Coronation Street website revealed today: “As Ken hears the commotion, Seb runs off leaving Ken to find Abi alone.

“Covering for Seb, Abi takes the blame and grabs some cash from the till. Ken calls the police and they arrive and arrest Abi.”
