ANOTHER huge star quits Coronation Street

Eva Price will wave goodbye to the cobbles next summer

It’s been revealed that Catherine Tydesley, who plays gorgeous Eva Price in Coronation Street, has quit the ITV soap.

Catherine has decided to move on to pursue other acting roles, including more serious dramatic parts, The Sun has reported.

“Coronation Street has been a dream job for me which is why this was such a difficult decision to leave,” Catherine told the publication.

“Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again.

“In the meantime I’m excited about the future, new acting projects, and spending time with my family.”

Catherine is the latest star to leave the show, after her on-screen ex-fiance Shayne Ward, who plays Aidan Connor, was reported to be leaving Corrie in an “explosive storyline”.

Could the pair be departing together? It’s possible, as Eva and Aidan do have some unfinished business.

Eva arrived in the Street in 2011 with mum Stella (played by Michelle Collins) and discovered her long-lost half-sister Leanne Battersby.

Since then she’s been involved in all sorts of excitement on the cobbles, including having a relationship with her mum’s ex, Jason Grimshaw.

She was also mixed up in the dramatic storyline involving arsonist and murderer Karl Munro, and in partnership with vicar Billy she helped uncover a modern-day slavery business.

Earlier this year, Eva discovered her fiance Aidan was cheating on her with Maria Connor. In an effort to get revenge, she lied that she was expecting his baby and continued to plan their wedding.

But the truth came out on the big day with Maria and Eva wrestling in a fountain at the wedding venue.

Earlier today it was reported that Catherine had been spotted filming at a pregnancy centre. Could that be a clue about how Eva will leave the Street? Only time will tell.
