Piers Morgan clashes with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in Love Island rant

They've all got very different opinions!

Piers Morgan didn’t see eye-to-eye with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Wednesday’s This Morning.

Piers, 53, and his Good Morning Britain co-star Susanna Reid stopped by to talk about their upcoming one-off special of the breakfast show, Good Evening Britain.

But when the conversation turned to Love Island, Piers clashed with Holly and Phil who are huge Love Island fans.

Speaking to Phil, Piers asked: “Do you seriously like [Love Island]? You’re an intelligent man, what is the matter with you?!”

He continued: “I submit myself to about five or six minutes a week [watching the show]. It’s seriously been damaging me. It literally kills my brain cells.”

Piers then said he thinks the contestants on the show are “braindead zombies” who are “chasing cheap, easy fame”.

Phil hit back: “But it’s massive Piers!” as Holly added: “They’re going in to find love.”

Piers interrupted: “They’re not going to find love,” as Holly cut in: “[Former contestants] have got married and had babies.”

Phil added: “There have been real relationships that have come out of there.”

Piers replied: “Oh come on!”

Susanna, who is also a huge fan of the show, backed Phil and Holly and said: “Here’s a man [Piers] who makes his money out of being on television.”

Piers said: “I’m a trained journalist, like you, who has spent my entire career working hard at my craft of journalism.

“There’s a doctor in there (referring to islander Alex George) who should be out there saving lives.”

Cracking a joke, Holly then told Piers: “We would all like to see you have a Love Island makeover!”

Meanwhile in the chat, Holly admitted she hopes EastEnders actor Danny Dyer “chins” Piers for slating Love Island, which his daughter Dani stars on.

Piers revealed he will be coming face-to-face with Danny, who plays Mick Carter in the soap, on Good Evening Britain Thursday.

Piers told Holly and Phil: “I think Danny Dyer unleashed anywhere in my proximity considering I’ve been hammering Love Island, where his own daughter is lurking might be a bit tense.”

Holly replied: “I think it might be. That’s the bit I’m most looking forward to.”

Piers cut in: “You want to see Danny Dyer chin me don’t you? on live TV, admit it Willoughby.”

Giggling, Holly admitted: “Is it wrong that I do? I’m sort of really hoping that happens.”

But Piers wasn’t happy and hit back: “It’s written all over your horrible little face.”

As Holly’s jaw dropped to the floor, he added: “I’m not buying the saviour thing.”

Phil then chimed in, saying: “Now steady on.”

But Piers wasn’t ready to forget Holly’s comment and continued: “If you’ve ever had lunch or dinner with Holly Willoughby you’ll know the halo does not extend into the dark recesses of a long lunch.

“And you want Dyer to smack me live on air.”
