Love Island’s Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen thank fans after marrying

The couple say they are "bursting with happiness"

Love Island newlyweds Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen have taken to social media to thank their friends, family and fans, after they tied the knot over the weekend.

Alex kept things simple, tweeting to his followers, “Mr and Mrs Bowen then❤️.”

Olivia tweeted “My heart is so full. ❤️,” before sharing some of the tweets from friends who were at the wedding on Saturday.

She went on to share a message of thanks to her fans for their support.

“Would like to say a huge thank you to all of you for the amazing well wishes as newlyweds!” she said.

“We are bursting with happiness and are currently enjoying our time away from everything. We promise to share with you all soon as we can see how many of you are excited to see ❤️.”

She also headed to Instagram to express her excitement at being married – changing her display name to “MRS OLIVIA BOWEN.”

Olivia posted a thank you to Instagram Stories promising that she and Alex will share pictures soon.

“Never had soooo many lovely sweet amazing kind messages wishing us well as newlyweds!” she said.

“Thank you to everyone and so much love to you all.

“We promise that photos will soon come! We’re just enjoying our time away from everything at the moment & are revelling in married bliss! Promise to share soon.”

She also shared a video showing the cards she and Alex had received from friends and well-wishers, with another message of thanks, saying, “I am emotional AGAIN!”

Olivia and Alex met on the set of Love Island in 2016, and went on to come second to Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey.

They are the first Love Island couple to marry in the show’s history.
