Love Island’s Dani Dyer reveals dad Danny’s sweet text to Jack Fincham

They haven't met but already get on well!

Love Island winner Dani Dyer has revealed her EastEnders actor dad Danny has been exchanging texts with her boyfriend Jack Fincham despite not meeting in person yet.

The 22-year-old told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that her famous dad Danny, 41, has yet to meet Jack, 26, but has already sent the pen salesman a text saying “love ya”.

High praise, indeed!

Danny and Dani’s mum Joanne missed the annual meet-the-parents episode of Love Island, where loved ones enter the villa, as they were on holiday over in Florida, meaning they had to video call Dani and Jack instead.

But it seems Jack and Danny have already struck up quite the friendship!

Dani explained: “They [my parents] ring us all the time, me dad especially, he’s like, ‘Listen when I come back we’ll have a proper chat’ and he’s definitely going to guide Jack as well in the right direction, which is nice.

“The thing is, me dad’s a big softie, really, and I think he knows how happy I am with Jack. I think he just wants to advise him and be there for him as well. I think it’s exciting for my dad to have another boy in the family.

“They’ve spoke on the phone, just chatting as normal, a normal conversation. Me dad’s never been able to really do that. They’re just chatting as normal, it wasn’t awkward.

“You always panic. I’m thinking, ‘Does me dad like him?’ He loves him and he text him saying ‘Love ya’. It’s nice, it’s really nice. He is a softie.”

Dani confirmed that Danny and Jo weren’t able to make an appearance at the villa in Love Island’s final week as they’d booked a holiday to Florida not thinking Dani would ever make the final!

It also meant they missed out on watching their little girl and Jack win Love Island and scoop the £50,000 prize between them last week.

Instead, Danny and Jo spoke to Dani and Jack via video link.

Dani said: “They’ve literally gone on holiday the final two weeks – brilliant timing. They didn’t think I was going to last. Me dad went, ‘I thought you’d last half hour’. The fact I lasted the whole way and now they’re obviously in Florida… but it’s rained for them. I said, ‘You should have stayed home!'”

Dani appeared on GMB solo as Jack was back home in bed.

She said the couple haven’t spent any time apart since leaving the villa and it was “horrible” being away from him.

“We can’t wait now to start living with each other. At the minute we’re back and forth. We’ve got to take it in turns. In the next week or so we want to get a flat together,” she added.

Dani, however, dismissed the suggestion marriage would quickly follow, saying neither she nor Jack has any desire to rush down the aisle.

“This wedding thing, literally, of course we want to get married eventually,” she said.

“I’ve always wanted to get married ever since I was little, that’s always been my dream. But we’re not getting married next year. It’s a little bit too soon I think. We want to enjoy each other first.”
