Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik has seen his family targeted by online trolls and subjected to death threats.
This is all because his younger sister posted a pic of the family’s Christmas tree on social media.
The Instagram post received some 12,000 likes but 14-year-old Safaa was subjected to a torrent of abuse.
The dual-faith family was threatened with ‘retribution’, as tempers flared online.
Zayn’s mum is a Christian while his dad follows Islam.
This means that the family have always celebrated both Christmas and the Muslim festivals, such as Eid.
This didn’t stop the haters labelling the family “a disgrace to the faith”.

A source close to Zayn’s parents spoke out to the Daily Star, saying: “Christmas is very important to Trisha because she was brought up a Christian.
“The hate that Safaa received was just disgusting.”

Zayn had previously shocked the world of pop by releasing a new song alongside Taylor Swift.
The collaboration is from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack and seemed to take his fans by surprise.
He had spent a few months away from the spotlight but this was a dramatic return for the shy singer.
Taylor then followed this up by posting a teaser clip of their video.
Certainly a Christmas present that their fans have all been waiting for.
