Wayne Rooney spotted without wedding band as Coleen skips first game back with Everton

She normally supports him at matches with their three sons

Wayne Rooney stepped back out for Everton today, taking on his former teammates Manchester United.

If ever there was a time he’d want the support of his family behind him, it would surely have been then.

But there was no sign of wife Coleen, or their three young sons at Old Trafford – unusual, as she so often is at matches to cheer on her footballer man.

Wayne was not wearing his wedding band either, leading some to speculate that there are still tensions in the marriage, following his drink-drive arrest earlier this month.

Of course, there could also be the entirely reasonable explanation that he doesn’t like to wear it while he plays…

Earlier today, reports claimed that Coleen Rooney had made some very strong-worded comments about the young woman, Laura Simpson, that Wayne was with when he was pulled over by police.

Within moments of the footballer’s arrest for driving her car, while under the influence, Laura was apparently calling a newspaper with her story.

There were reports of her saying that she and married Rooney would probably have gone on to have sex, had their boozy night not been interrupted by the long arm of the law.

This week the lettings agent from Cheshire made an appearance on This Morning.

She was there to give her side of the story and to dispel some of the lies she claims the media has written about her.

The 29-year-old claimed nothing happened with Rooney, but went on to say that, were she Coleen, she wouldn’t be forgiving him.

Well, she’s not and never will be in Coleen’s shoes.

The pregnant WAG had maintained a dignified silence over the scandal, bar asking the press to leave her and her three young sons alone on social media.

But The Sun reports a source as saying: “Coleen has been furious at Wayne.

“But the more she learns, the more sympathetic she is to Wayne’s version of events.

“She labelled Laura a ‘fame-seeking slapper’.

“She still thinks Wayne was in the wrong — but for the first time it seems he has some light at the end of the tunnel.”

These alleged comments come amidst rumours mum-of-one Laura has hired an agent in an attempt to land herself spots on reality shows such as Celebrity Big Brother.
