The state of Wayne Rooney’s marriage has been the subject of speculation ever since police caught him drink-driving in another woman’s car.
Since then, the footballer’s pregnant wife Coleen, 31, has maintained a dignified silence, refusing to speak publicly on her husband’s dangerous antics – or rumours they’re fighting to save their marriage.
She has, however, been spied out on numerous occasions without her wedding ring, which has led some to suggest she’s not quite ready to forgive her errant husband that easily.
Now, a new report alleges Wayne, 31, is hoping to woo back his devoted wife by popping the question AGAIN in a bid to start afresh.

An insider told Reveal magazine: “Wayne thinks that if he can get Coleen away on her own, he can win her over.
“He’s got all these ideas – rose petals on the bed, romantic baths together, walks on the beach.”
And one of those ideas apparently involves getting down on one knee again, glittering diamond ring in hand.
The source said: “He’s even willing to propose again with a new ring, to try to erase his mistakes and his past.
“He’ll suggest renewing their vows – anything to get Coleen to forgive him. It’s something he wants to do privately, to prove his love for Coleen.”
So far there’s been no word from either Wayne or Coleen on whether this is true.
Of course, you wouldn’t expect there to be, given they’ve both stayed tight-lipped on the rumours about their relationship.
The only thing Coleen has said publicly since Wayne’s arrest was a simple tweet advising fans not to believe everything they read and laughing at so-called “sources” claiming to know her.
It’s meant waves of unconfirmed, wild speculation alleging everything from Coleen reportedly setting Wayne marriage guidelines, to Wayne sweeping Coleen off for intimate, weekly dates, and even Coleen warning Wayne to find himself new friends.
So many rumours – absolutely NONE of which have been confirmed…
If this story about a fresh proposal / vow renewal is actually true, it would coincide with the couple’s tenth wedding anniversary next year.
They married at a lavish Italian ceremony in June 2008 and went on to have three children: Kai, seven, Klay, four, and Kit, one.
It’s not the first time reports of a vow renewal have surfaced; just one year after tying the knot, Coleen herself told OK! a vow renewal was something she’d consider ten years down the line.
“I really like the idea because it’s romantic, I think one year is far too soon because our wedding is still so fresh in our minds,” she said at the time.
“I definitely wouldn’t rule it out for Wayne and me, one day, though. Maybe we could do it when we reach our 10th wedding anniversary.”
Sadly, she probably never expected her current situation…
Wayne was arrested in the early hours of September 1 after police in Cheshire stopped a VW Beetle. The sportsman was driving the car, with the vehicle’s owner, Laura Simpson, in the passenger seat.
The Everton star pleaded guilty to a drink-driving charge and was handed a two-year driving ban and 100 hours of unpaid charity work as part of a 12-month community order.
He issued a statement apologising for his “unforgivable lack of judgment” in driving while over the legal limit.
Wayne has never publicly addressed why he was driving Laura’s car.
She was quoted as saying they had a “kiss, a hug and some banter, harmless fun” but thought they probably would have slept together if the police hadn’t stopped them, before claiming she’d been misquoted and nothing happened.

According to The Sun on Sunday, former England captain Wayne privately told Coleen nothing happened with Laura and he was just helping her out by giving her a lift home.
An insider alleged: “Wayne has pleaded his innocence of doing anything with Laura and told Coleen he will do anything to keep the family together.
“He has told her that she and the kids are his world.”
